What a Five Element Acupuncture Treatment Is Like

  1. Conversation and Observation: I first observe carefully and listen closely to you about your concerns, to get the best sense possible of how you presently are, and how to best move towards your goals with treatment.

  2. Pulse taking: On my treatment table, I will feel lightly with my fingertips at three different positions on your wrists. These key positions above your arteries allow me to pay close attention to the state of each of your organs, and how energy is flowing among them.

  3. Crafting the treatment plan: Using what you have shared and the energetic pulses of your organs, I will pause to craft a precise treatment plan, providing the most potent and needed support directly to you.

  4. Preparation and Needling: I will then examine the appropriate areas, often on the torso, forearms, and lower legs, to feel the planned acupuncture points where I will insert an extremely slender, pre-sterilized needle. The needle goes in and out quickly, like turning on a light switch, to support an improved flow of your energy.

  5. Repetition:

    • This needling process will be repeated on a few, select points, to help enliven aspects of your well-being where it will be most beneficial for you.

    • Energetic pulse taking is repeated throughout and at the end of the treatment, to see how things are shifting with the stimulation of each acupuncture point or set of points.  As soon as I perceive that your natural harmony and energy flow are free and vital, the treatment will end.

  6. Post Treatment: After a treatment is complete, we will talk briefly about how you are feeling, and what will be most supportive of you going forward, to enhance and sustain the changes that the treatment has brought about.

Fees for Five Element Acupuncture Treatment

Throughout my career I have endeavored to keep treatment affordable for people. Toward this end, I charge the same $125 fee for the initial 2-hour session as I do for regular 1-hour sessions.

Please give 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Missed appointments will be charged the full appointment fee. Extenuating circumstances, emergencies, illness, et cetera are of course taken into consideration and the fee will be waived as appropriate.
